Issue:

Jill and Eugene L. love animals, they just can't stand critters! For years, Eugene tried to keep rodents and snakes out of his crawl space. He sealed air vents, foamed cracks and even tried nets to keep out the pesky critters. Nothing seemed to work. Ironically, Jill has a successful canine training business and loves working with animals. The couple acquired several rescue animals over the years, but often worried about the pets being bitten.

Jill met the Crawlspaces Plus representatives at the home show and requested a free inspection and an expert consultation.

Solution:

Crawlspaces Plus noted during its inspection that the crawlspace still had rodent infestation and standing water, which was probably attracting the pests. Crawlspaces Plus remedied the two issues by installing 5/16" CleanSpace™ drainage matting under the patented, 7-ply, CleanSpace™ encapsulation liner. The matting will manage groundwater, seal ground gasses and provide a durable rodent barrier. A SmartSump™ sump pump was also installed to eliminate standing water. The system guarantees for 25 years against standing water on the liner. The masonry foundation piers and perimeter walls were also wrapped with CleanSpace™. To maintain optimal humidity and filter crawlspace air, a SaniDry™ CSB dehumidifier was included.

Results:

The home was isolated from the earth and water intrusion and moisture issues were brought under control. The crawl space is sealed permanently to prevent unwanted critters. Energy savings alone will pay for the improvement, while Eugene and Jill can now enjoy a much healthier lifestyle.
